DISCOVERING BUDAPEST: A QUICK GUIDE FOR STAG PARTY
Budapest is a unique city, divided by the Danube into two parts – Buda and Pest. The population of the Hungarian capital is around 1.7 million people. The Buda side is more hilly and family-oriented, while Pest has a more inner-city feel.
In recent years, downtown Budapest has undergone significant development, with many streets transformed into pedestrian zones with beautifully designed buildings and outdoor cafes.
In 2015, the obscure nightclubs on the island of Hajógyári were dismantled, but the triangle of Király Street – Nagykörút – Rákóczi út became Europe’s hottest party and club district.
WHAT TO DO IN BUDAPEST
Rather than trying to see everything, it’s best to enjoy the vibe and atmosphere of the city during your 3-day visit. To get a great view of the city for some selfies, head to Buda Castle or Gellert Hill on the Buda side. On the Pest side, go to Budapest Eye and the Basilica, or visit Hero Square.
Public transportation is fast, comfortable, and very cheap with a 3-day tourist ticket. At night, there are also trams and buses running throughout the night. The river banks are connected by 6 bridges, the most unique of them being the Liberty Bridge where self-organized parties take place during the summer. There are also really cool laid-back lounge type bars at the feet of the bridge with live music.
Budapest is known for its wine, so don’t forget to treat yourself to an unforgettable wine-tasting experience at one of the many bars in the city. After you’ve had a glass (or two), check out the exclusive clubs that this beautiful city has to offer.
Budapest also has great outdoor areas with huge projectors for watching sports events, such as the Football World Championships/World Championships, including Milennar, Elizabeth Square, Margaret Island Sports Ground, and Szabadság tér.
Try the local beers as well. Beer prices in Budapest range from 350 to 600 HUF, and you can find ales, lagers, or stouts & porters in the best bars that offer quality craft beer, often for the price of regular beers.
For chill programs, drive the Monster Rollers on Margaret Island, where there is a famous fountain that syncs with lights and music.
You can also go to the outdoor water park Palatinus Strand, and more than 10 baths are scattered throughout the city. The best-known is Széchenyi (Szecska), but you could try Rudas or Lukács too! Don’t forget to try the steam rooms to relax after a party.
